How do I connect Oink to Claude?
You need an Oink account to connect. You can search jobs without uploading a CV or setting up a profile.
These steps are for the Claude desktop app:
- Click your profile name at the bottom left, then open Settings.
- Under Customize, choose Connectors.
- Switch from Yours to Discover and search for
oink. - If Oink appears, click Connect.
- A browser page opens asking you to connect your Oink account. Sign in with your usual Oink login, or create an account.
- Read the permissions, decide whether to share your CV text, then click Allow connection.
(Quite a few menus for one connection 🙃.)
The consent page explains what Claude can read: stored jobs and descriptions, your saved matches with Oink's explanations, and your professional profile and search preferences. The checkbox labelled "Share my CV text (optional)" starts unchecked. Leave it that way unless you want Claude to read your CV, including any contact details it contains.
What if Oink does not appear in Discover?
Directory listings go through a separate review process, so Oink may not appear for every account. On the Connectors page, choose the option to add a custom connector and enter this server address:
https://api.oinkjobsearch.com/api/mcp
Then sign in to Oink and approve the connection. Your Claude account or workspace must allow custom connectors; an administrator may need to enable them. If you cannot find that option, check Claude's current custom connector instructions. Menu names can change between versions.
Why did I add a Claude connection?
You find a job, copy the description into Claude and ask whether it fits your experience. Then you find another one and do the same thing again. Claude helps you read the jobs, but you still have to find them and move everything between tabs.
With Oink connected, you can ask Claude to search stored jobs and read their descriptions in the same conversation. If you have an Oink profile and access to the personal features, it can also compare a posting with your experience and explain your saved matches.
I started building Oink because looking for a job feels like a second job. Reading every position and deciding whether you even fit can take a lot of time, especially when you already have work to do. Oink does the searching and sends a handful of best-fit jobs each day.
But a shortlist still leaves questions. Does this role actually allow you to work from your country? Which requirements does your experience cover? What is missing from the description? The connection lets you ask those questions in Claude, using the stored posting and, when available, your Oink profile.
There are limits. Oink gives Claude stored jobs, with the time they were observed and any known closure information. It does not check them live. Open the original posting before spending an evening on an application. Claude can help you read and draft; the Oink connection cannot save jobs, change your profile, run matching, schedule searches or submit applications.
How do I check that it works?
Open a conversation, click the + button in the message box, then open Connectors. Check that Oink is listed and switched on. Try this example:
Find remote Python jobs in Germany. Show the source and when each job was observed. Include any stated restrictions on where I can live.
A remote job can still restrict where applicants live. Ask Claude to show that information rather than assuming "remote" means you can work from anywhere.
Oink searches the stored jobs available to it. A search keeps the newest 200 matching postings for 15 minutes, with 10 results per page by default and up to 20. If you reach the 200-result limit, narrow the search by location, work arrangement or keyword.
Can Claude compare jobs with my profile?
Yes, once you have an Oink profile and current access to the personal features through a trial, paid plan or manually granted access. You can set up your profile in Oink and return to the conversation without reconnecting.
For example:
Show three of my recent Oink matches. Read their available descriptions and compare them with my profile. Point out missing information, and keep Oink's saved scores separate from your own conclusions.
A new profile may have no saved matches yet. The connector reads matches that already exist; asking Claude does not start a matching run. Older matches may also contain only an excerpt. Oink labels incomplete descriptions, and Claude can search for a separate stored posting with complete text without assuming it is the same job.
You can also ask Claude to draft an application using the posting and your profile. The draft stays in the conversation, and Oink sends nothing. In my opinion, a personal cover letter is more useful than a quickly generated one. Use the draft to get started, check every claim about your experience, and rewrite it in your own words.
How do I remove access or change CV sharing?
In Oink, open Settings, then AI connections, and revoke the connection. To change your CV choice, reconnect with the CV checkbox checked or unchecked.
Revoking stops future reading. It cannot remove information already delivered into a Claude conversation; Claude's own data controls apply there. You can read more about Oink's handling of your information in the privacy policy.
The connection also has fair-use limits, shared across your connections: initially 100 search pages and 500 job details per UTC day, 60 tool calls per minute and two simultaneous searches. These are usage limits, not a separate paid plan.
If a step looks different on your screen, send a screenshot to nomads.eat@gmail.com so I can update the instructions. For the daily shortlist, you can also set up Telegram alerts.
Describe the role you want and add a resume where required or useful. Oink searches the public sources available to your run, ranks viable postings 0–5, and delivers explained matches on the web or in Telegram.
